I spent 3 weeks in October staying at Villa Hedera, a brilliant villa with swimming pool, beautiful gardens and fish pond and in a fabulous location 10 minutes from the Old Town. However, the highlight for me was the service which was nothing short of outstanding. Vedran, Vesna, Maro and Antonia were fantastic and were always accessible and able to answer any question we had, and get us anything we needed from changing the linen when I had people change over outside of the normal times or getting us a rental car and even a yacht.
I had 30 friends and family who joined me for various lengths of time. The team at Hedera Estate could not have been more helpful in assisting me with moving the people in and out and arranging airport transportation and even mobile phones for us to use.
We also made use of the Apartments which are a minute walk from the villa when we had more people than the villa could sleep and used Hedera A1, A2 and Hedera Studio 1 and Studio 2. These were also excellent accommodations and had everything you could think of in them.
I could not have picked a better venue or better hosts for my holiday and can safely say that it was the service provided that made it magical.
I would strongly recommend the villa and apartments for any group wanting to have a worry free holiday.

The Hedera A9 apartment was actually nicer than it was represented on the website. Perhaps a virtual tour would have showed it off better. I was excited to stay at Hedera A9, but pleasantly surprised that it was even nicer.

When we saw the photos and the price we thought it was too good to be true. But Hedera A9 was exactly as described, if not better. Our cab drivers did have a little trouble finding the place, but it wasn't too bad. The climb up and down the stairs to Old Town was the worst part, but we thought of it as part of the experience!!! Maro, who checked us into the apartment, was very helpful. He gave us a map and told us all the great things to do in Dubrovnik. Also, when he told us they were having issues with the wireless, we assumed that it meant no internet, and then he pulled out a portable internet for our laptop! We were also given a cell phone to use for local calls, which was amazing. Everything in the apartment was clean and worked well. The pool was beautiful and well-maintained. I don't think I can say enough good things about how well the rental process went, how nice and helpful everyone was, and how great the property was. The Hedera A9 apartment definitely made our amazing stay in Dubrovnik even better!

We loved our apartment (Hedera A9)!! It was beautiful, comfortable, clean, full of amenities, and the view was fantastic! We even commented on the fact that we couldn't believe how much time our group spent sitting on the balcony and just taking in the view. Gorgeous! The owner of the apartment (Hedera A14) was extremely helpful and attentive, the apartment was fine and the location ideal.

6 of us (3 couples) stayed in Hedera Estate (Apartment A9) for a week. Hedera Estate has multiple apartments and flats and they are spread out across the city. The apartment has 2 double rooms, one twin room and another room with a sofa-bed. There is also a swimming pool which has amazing views and the guys that work for the Estate are great help! The apartment is fully airconditioned.

Brilliant -Brilliant -Brilliant - we had an absolutely great time here - the apartment (Hedera A18) is spacious clean, modern, comfortable - a really great place to see and stay in Dubrovnik . This is our first time here and we have enjoyed our stay here so much that we will happily stay here again.Close to the old town- easy and i mean up and down a million steps but that is not the fault of the apartment to the old town - close to local friendly shops - fresh bread - good wine - I could go on and on.We had somewhere to park our car ,which is in easy walking distance -and believe me ,in Dubrovnik that is worth its weight in gold .Every morning we feasted on fresh grapes from the vine and fresh pomegranates from the tree and fresh yoghurt while looking at the view of the old town from the breakfast terrace- Honestly this is a great place and we shall recommend it to everyone .Believe me we have looked at other places and they were horrible -this is really a comfortable home from home.

We had a great time in House Hedera, the location was excellent and it was very clean and tidy.

Studio 4 Hedera is on a quiet, tree lined street two blocks from the pedestrian Lapad street filled with cafes en route to the beach. It is an easy 10 minute bus ride to the old town. The bed was very comfortable and we found the apartment clean and exactly as advertised: washing machine and clothesline, AC, wifi, functional kitchenette, garden patio, complimentary cell phone.

Vedran spent over a half hour with us giving impartial restaurant recommendations (we completely agreed with his reviews). He also came to the rescue when we needed help getting back into the apartment at midnight (an astonishingly embarrassing stupid tourist moment). Upon arrival at the apartment after leaving his friend at a nearby bar, he gave us no grief about needing help. Exceptional service.

We just wanted to say thank you for the use of your fantastic villa (Villa Hedera). The kids already miss the pool and we all miss Dubrovnik and the sunshine. The restaurants that you recommended to us served wonderful food in relaxed atmospheres. We loved the fish in the pool, very relaxing to watch, and the villa had all the facilities we could have asked for. Mom and dad chilled happily on the outdoor sofas even with the unusually high temperatures.
Dubronik is as beautiful as we remember and, having seen photos of the devestation caused during the war, we cannot believe how stoical and brave the Croatians have been in rebuilding the city and its' surrounding area. We feel privileged that we have once more been able to spend some time there.

The Villa Hedera was perfect for us. The recommendations for restaurants and bakeries were very helpful as well. The Dubrovnik restaurant was our favorite, but we ate at 3 different places and all were wonderful. We also walked over to a beach in Lapad and went swimming in the clear water…we were on a boat from Sat to Saturday and sailed among the islands…all in all a great trip and we were very happy with our accommodations!! We would like to say how much we enjoyed our time in Dubrovnik, and staying in the Hedera A6 apartment. It was in such an excellent position, and so close to the Stradun - just what we had been hoping for when we booked it. The apartment was delightful, very clean, and well set up. We greatly appreciated the assistance given to us when we arrived - even being given the loan of a mobile phone. And on our last day it was very good to have been able to get transport to the airport. Thank you so much for that. Just one thing - the lock on the door out onto the street appeared to be broken. Generally everyone in the building just left it unlocked, but when someone did actually lock it, our key would not unlock it & so one of us got locked out! That could have been a major problem. We would be very happy to recommend this apartment to other people, and would love to stay there again ourselves one day. Thanks again for all the assistance we received.

Hedera Estate consists of charming apartments and houses inside the old city of Dubrovnik and just outside the gate, as well. The company is well run by charming owners, Vedran Miovic and his friend and partner, Stijepo. We spent 10 nights there---Sept. 15 thru 25, 2010 , with our two friends from England at House Hedera which perches over the Adriatic. just outside the west gate. We were well tended by these two 26-year-old owners who speak perfect English, offer wonderful advice, fix any problems (eg., w/ internet) and pick up their guests at the Dubrovnik Airport. They make a Croatia visit easy. Will even sail with you if you need help. Fun!!

The Villa Hedera is an amazing place and even with 10 of us staying there was so much room and we never felt cramped, the walk to the old town was relatively easy although after a great meal the uphill part was rather more taxing :-).

The villa had everything we needed and there wasn't a thing we could fault...well other than wanting to stay for longer.

This was my wedding week and a great chance to spend time with family and friends whom we hadn't seen for a while, we could never have had the relaxed and stunning location if we were in a hotel and everyone raved about what a great place I had picked.

The mobile phones to use were an added bonus and you and Stijepo were just so lovely and welcoming.

My only comment would be that while you were very knowledgeable and gave us plenty of advise after a few wines we had forgot what you told us, it would have been nice to have a hand written information book in the villa with guidance about the place, trips to go on, best restaurants, bank opening times etc and a comments section at the back so we could have added our compliments for future guests to see.

I wish you all the best for the future and I think you will be getting some repeat customers from my wedding party.

Thank you for our stay here (Hedera Cottage + A7). We loved the pool and swimming in the sea. We loved the views, the ships and eating outside. I hope we come again.

We have just returned from staying at Villa Hedera, a delightful house with swimming pool, gardens and fish pond situated in a residential area near the Old Town. Between the villa and the town there are convenient bars, shops and restaurants, as well as a small supermarket near the villa. It’s an up-hill walk from the town, with a quieter, but steeper, pathway as an alternative to the pavement.

This is 4*+ self-catering. The website gives an accurate description, though it is larger and better than the pictures suggest. There is an additional terrace at the back of the villa with plenty of outside seating. It comfortably accommodates 10 adults in 5 double bedrooms, 2 of which are plenty large enough for an additional bed. One of the larger bedrooms is on the ground floor with a shower room next to it, quite separate from the living area, with an additional separate toilet. The other shower room and full bathroom are upstairs and enable two rooms to share one. The three front bedrooms have a beautiful view over the bay. The kitchen is well equipped and the modern laundry room is a real bonus for a longer stay. The lounge-dining area is comfortable and large.

What the website can’t tell you is the quality of service you will receive here. There were local mobile phones available so we could contact family and friends in other Hedera Estate properties, as well as the owner. Vedran arranged transport to and from the airport at very reasonable cost and organised taxis for us at other times. On the final day, when we had a late flight, we were most grateful to be allowed to use one room and shower, despite the fact that the cleaners and gardeners were giving the house the meticulous care that it receives between guests. All in all, even without the wedding we were attending, this was a family holiday that will never be forgotten and, we hope, to be repeated. Apartment A4 was a wonderful way for us to experience Dubrovnik. It was clean; it was far less expensive than the local hotels; the view of Lapad was spectacular; and the location was removed from the busy tourist areas of the city, yet not far from the beach and restaurants. Vedran was a wonderful host. I highly recommend the Hedera Estate as a place to stay while in Dubrovnik.

We stayed at the Hedera Cottage in mid-May 2010. From the time that we started the reservation process, we received excellent service and advice from Vedran (the young and energetic owner). Vedran knows what a traveler of today wants, including wireless internet and even a personal cellular phone to use while in Croatia!!!

We took advantage of the pick-up service from the airport (which Vedran organized), which I highly recommend as you don't want the stress of driving along the coast (winding and steep roads with traffic) after you arrive from an international trip.

The private pool was great, but the beach area further down is PERFECT. And, since this personal beach is so convenient to the cottage, it is perfect for having a nice lunch and drinking local wines all afternoon without having to worry about driving.

Vedran was also nice enough to use his extensive contacts to have a car delivered for us, use his personal time to take us to some of the better views of Dubrovnik, take us grocery shopping, etc. While I am sure that he does not have all of this time available in the summer months when the properties are fully booked, I am confident that he will do everything that he can to make this an enjoyable stay for guests at any of the properties.

Food selection is the grocery store is good and fresh. If you have the time and transportation, then you could do this on your own, but I think that organizing "provisions" with your reservation would make for a totally stress free arrival at the villa.

If you want to be directly in the heart of Dubrovnik, then select one of the other properties that Hedera Estate has to offer. But, for a very relaxing time in a good private villa with a superb view, then stay at this cottage. Also, this property has free parking, something which might be difficult at the properties located more in the center of Dubrovnik.

And, if you need anything during your stay, Vedran will surely help for you to find it!!!

All in all, Dubrovnik was a wonderful and relaxing trip, which was made most enjoyable because we stayed at the Hedera Cottage. I feel that we planned this trip expecting to enjoy ourselves, but that we finished the trip feeling like we have a new friend in Vedran.

Ten friends stayed in this beautiful house (Villa Hedera) just up the road from Old Town. The garden is a relaxing oasis with swimming pool, covered patio and a fish pond. Five simple but pleasant bedrooms either with a stunning view or very large. Easy walk down to old town. Would be a great place to spend a week or 2.

I just want to say thank you for a perfect service and perfect holiday in Dubrovnik, and a perfect stay in House Hedera.

The apartment, Hedera A6, is situated 20metres from the Stradun, when visiting Dubrovnik you could not ask for a better location. Everything needed for your stay was provided, the two missing items a kettle and hairdryer were replaced with a new kettle and hairdryer the following day by the owners. The only drawback is the four flights of stairs to the loft apartment but at least we didnt have to carry the cases up this being done by the owners after collecting us from the airport. Both very friendly helpful guys. When visiting again we would not hesitate in staying there.

Eight of us (my family and my sister's family) stayed at the Villa Hedera for 12 days at the end of August. The holiday was terrific and the Villa perfect. Vedran Moivic welcomed us at the airport and took us all to the villa where we shared a glass of grappa. Arriving on Sunday afternoon, we had arranged with Vedran for some provisions to be bought in. Everything was provided, enabling us to have a relaxing barbeque on our first evening.

Vedran also came to our assistance when we needed to visit a doctor at the end of the first week. Vedran first took us to the doctor and then after waiting with us, he then took us to a pharmacy and back to the Villa.

We ate at the Villa on 7 of the 12 evenings and the outside space is ideal for eating and relaxing. Our boys used the pool non stop, even enjoying it up until 11pm on our last evening.

We have no hesitation in wholeheartedly recommending this holiday.

I have just returned from a fantastic week in Dubrovnik. We were there for a friends wedding so we rented Villa Hedera from Vedran in Hedera Estate. There was 10 of us staying there. The villa could not have been in a better location, it was spacious luxurious and above all clean. It really is in the best location because every night the best place is the old town and it is really on 7 -10 mins walking as stated on the website. Vedran and co. could not have been more helpful to us. I would highly recommend this villa and I will definately be back.

My wife, 27 y/o daughter and I spent 5 wonderful days in Dubrovnik in May 2009. What a wonderful city to visit. I looked for many hours and finally found what turned out to be a fantastic apartment (House Hedera), two blocks from the Pile Gate of the old city, and directly on the Adriatic, next to the old castle walls. There’s a city park just above, to the west, on cliffs, that is delightful to walk through. Sitting on the balcony of the house we could feel the breeze and watch the waves of the Adriatic (and leave windows open and hear them all night). Every evening cruise ships go by. It’s a fantastic location and I highly recommend it. The house is two bedrooms and two baths (downstairs) and is very comfortable. The kitchen is simple but adequate, with stove top, microwave, fridge, and basic dishes. The TV does run a continuous feed from a camera on the main street in old town, which was somewhat helpful to know when there weren’t crowds. The apartment comes with free parking, which is a big plus. It was easy to find the apartment with Vedran on the phone as we arrived and he guided us directly to it. Our GPS was making the same recommendations (NUVI with European maps). The cost was a bit high compared to other possible accommodations (180 Euro per night compared with others around at 80 Euro) but the others were one room, no view, no terrace, and no free parking. Parking is 30 Euro and we ate a good bit in the apartment (after shopping at stores easily reached by bus or walking) which we believed easily made up the difference and it was so much quieter and more pleasant it was worth every Euro.

Hedera A1 was fabulous! Great views, very quiet as it is at the back of the building, the balcony is great, and the apartment itself is very spacious. The pictures do not do it justice, it is much bigger than expected when you get there.

We had an unforgettable trip to Dubrovnik. Hedera A1 was even nicer than it looked in the photographs and was ideally located for exploring all that Dubrovnik has to offer. The apartment was clean and comfortable and we felt very much at home. We didn't want to leave at the end of the week. We will definitely be returning to Dubrovnik in the future.
